Troop 829 was founded on August 29, 2019. We wanted to provide inclusion and opportunity and to grow scouting in Mount Airy and the surrounding area.

Our Family troop accepts all youth from 11-17. The troop is scout-led, focusing on developing youth leadership by giving scouts responsibility for managing many of their activities. We are the only Mount Airy based combined troop serving both boys and girls in a single unit.

 

One of our mantras is "No Scout Left Behind!" No matter what strengths, challenges, interests, or background, our environment is welcoming and meant to provide them a space to have fun, achieve their goals, challenge themselves and make new friends.
