End of another Year

December found us in full celebration mode. We held our third Court of Honor for the year, had a holiday party at Mount Airy Lanes and marched in the town Christmas Parade.

November 2021

T829 had their first "Thanksgiving in Woods" campout. We camped at a private wooded campsite, worked on requirements and had an enormous feast. We also held a leadership training day for all our youth elected leaders

​

October 2021

Our troop has two big campouts planned this month. We will be participating in our District's Webelos Woods 10/08 - 10/10 (teaching younger scouts core scouting skills and preparing them to join a troop) and heading to Assateague Island 10/15 - 10/16

 

Weekend of Service 09/11/2021 - 09/12/2021

We were honored to participate in the Mount Airy Patriot Day Ceremony at Pine Grove Chapel and conduct the flag ceremony at the 2nd Annual Duck Races to benefit our volunteer fire department.

Mount Airy Town Campout & Service - 08/14/2021 - 08/15/2021

Troop 829 attended in force while also collecting food for the Mount Airy Net and hosting a reading corner for the young boys and girls of Mount Airy

Philmont -- 07/26/2021

Several of our troop returned triumphantly from hiking over 50 miles at Philmont Scout Ranch.

Summer Camp -- 06/27/2021 to 07/03/2021

Troop 829 had a blast at Henson Scout Reservation! The scouts completed merit badges from water sports to welding. Our first year scouts took part in the Brownsea program where they earned requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class Ranks.

Connor C's Eagle Court of Honor -- 06/18/2021

Connor celebrated his accomplishment for getting the rank of Eagle in June 2021! Congratulations Connor!

Meet the Troops Night -- 06/09/2021

Our troop was advertised to the Webelos Scouts of Baltimore Area Council to try to get them to join our troop next year.

Kayla K's Eagle Court of Honor -- 06/06/2021

Kayla was our first female Eagle Scout. She celebrated her Eagle Court of Honor in June 2021! Congratulations Kayla!

Adventure Park at Sandy Spring Friends School -- 05/01/2021

Scouts at Troop 829B attended a fun event at Adventure Park in Sandy Spring. Scouts went through tough ropes courses for four hours!

April Campout and Mt. Airy NET move -- 04/24/2021

Scouts helped the Mt. Airy NET move to the Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Afterward, the scouts relaxed and had fun. Scouts slept for one night in their tents.

First In-Person Meeting of 2021 -- 03/05/2021

Our troop started our first in-person meeting on March 5. Our meeting was based off of fishing.

Kayla K reached Eagle Rank -- 03/03/2021

Troop Elections -- 02/26/2021

Congratulations to Zach M, our Senior Patrol Leader, Connor C, our Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Connor N, our Scribe, and other scouts for fulfilling positions and helping run our troop!

 

Troop Hike -- 02/27/2021

Troop 829 took a 10 mile hike along the Ten Mile Creek Trail.

Troop 829 took a 10 mile hike along the Western Maryland Rail Trail. They went five miles in and five miles back.

Connor C achieved Eagle Rank! -- 01/28/2021
